MEETING NOTICE

May 22, 2002


Dear IARP Members:

The Iowa Association of Railroad Passengers will meet on Saturday, June 15, 2002, at the Old Threshers Reunion grounds (www.oldthreshers.org) in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. 

We will have lunch at noon in the Old Threshers Theatre Museum, south of the Heritage Museum.  Choices for lunch are: 

        Club Sandwich, cole slaw, chips and a cookie, or
        Ham and Cheese Sandwich on croissant, potato salad, chips and a cookie

Drink choices are: canned pop, iced tea or lemonade.

The business meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Old Threshers Theatre.  Following the business meeting, at about 3:00 p.m., everyone may enjoy a trolley ride.

Cost including the meal, facility rental and trolley ride is $10.  Those wishing to only attend the meeting and trolley ride will be asked to pay a registration fee of $3.

The Old Threshers Reunion Museum opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m.  You may want to arrive earlier in the morning and visit the museums.  The cost is $3/person.

The meeting will include updates on passenger rail issues, the election of IARP officers, and a report on the "Rally for Rail Club" effort.  It should be an interesting meeting and an exciting day.

P.S.    Also remember that Amtrak #6 stops in Mount Pleasant at 11:18 a.m. eastbound and #5 arrives at 6:36 p.m. westbound.
